Az ARTeast alapitvany was officially registered in 1999 at Targu Mures. Since then it has been prompting the integration of the town and the region into the European cultural circuit.the ART east contemporary art foundation focused on the permanent scanning presentation of most innovating and experimental art, and considers it a priority to initiate connections between romanian artists and artistic personalities of international fame. Our mission is to create interactive space for communication of audience with contemporary art and to initiate cooperation and exchange.

It supports events which contribute to the strengthening of the region's multicultural identity. One of the principal objectives of the foundation is the organization of visual arts events which promote artistic experimentation related to communication, open society and culture focused on sound art, video art, computer art, interactive projects and all innovative experimental forms in contemporary art... It also intends to prepare the gorund for the meeting of different areas and to establish a regional institution to support the research, innovative use and cultural application of new technologies.
